Monocrystalline 156.75mm Cell

Compatible Electrical Parameters for Existing PV Strings

For legacy solar panel replacement

Product Overview

This 72-cell mono 156.75mm solar panel is designed as a replacement module for legacy solar power systems installed mostly before 2020.
Many early photovoltaic installations used M2 156.75 mm monocrystalline cells in 72-cell configurations. As the solar industry has shifted to larger wafter sizes (166 mm, 182 mm, and 210 mm), all major manufacturers have discontinued these legacy panel formats.
To support ongoing maintenance of existing PV systems, compatible replacement modules are required to maintain string voltage consistency, mounting compatibility, and system performance. These modules are suitable for repairing or replacing damaged panels in utility-scale solar farms, commercial rooftops, and early residential installations.

FAQ
Q1: Why are 340W-350W 72-cell mono solar panels difficult to find today?
Most solar manufacturers have transitioned to larger wafer sizes and higher power modules, making older 156mm 72-cell panels discontinued in mass production.
Q2: Can I replace a damaged panel with a higher power module?
It is possible, but the electrical parameters and size may not match the existing PV string, which could reduce system efficiency.
Q3: Why is it important to match the original panel size?
Matching the original dimensions ensures compatibility with existing mounting systems and simplifies installation.
Q4: Can replacement modules be customized?
Yes. Replacement panels can be produced with similar electrical parameters to match existing solar arrays.
Q5: Who typically needs these replacement modules?
Solar farm operators, EPC maintenance companies, and system owners managing installations built before 2020.
